This is a story posted to Something Awful in 2003, about a user named "Moonshine". He told an unforgettable tale about his experience climbing the corporate ladder to greatness, only to be left behind as a manager without a team.
It's not long before he realizes that he's getting paid while doing absolutely nothing. As he struggles to maintain his lifestyle against the forces of Human Resources and paranoid management, he makes deals with acquaintances to "help" keep the party going.
After a while, he begins to realize that he alone, forgotten by the productive world, has achieved an ideal many can only imagine:
