Описание: Britain has faced brutal winters every decade since the 1950s, each one testing the country in different ways. In 1956, the sea froze solid along the coast. The Big Freeze of 1962 to 63 lasted three straight months with snowdrifts reaching 20 feet and the Thames freezing over. The Winter of Discontent in 1978 brought strikes and mountains of rubbish rotting in city centers. Then came 1982, when Britain recorded its coldest temperatures ever at minus 27.2 degrees in Scotland and minus 26.1 in England, records that still stand today. From frozen seas to the wrong type of snow in 1990 to the Beast from the East in 2018, every decade brought its own nightmare winter. This is the story of Britain's worst winters and the people who survived them all.
