Born and bred in Hong Kong, young emerging artist Vivian Ho (aka vvnho) is a graduate of Wesleyan University. Her practice consists of figurative oil paintings, charcoal on paper as well as mixed media works that deal consistently with the notions of hidden beauty, while referencing the emotional attachment to the city in which she grew up. Capturing an authentic view of Hong Kong, from the lives of ordinary people to common wet markets, where both slaughtering and butchering happen daily, Ho questions much deeper social and cultural issues than her works may seem on first encounter.
