Five million dogs are killed for their meat in Vietnam every year. That’s 13,700 every day. ⁠

Animals Asia has already succeeded in getting the dog meat trade between Vietnam and Thailand suspended and stopping the illegal import of dogs for the trade. We track and report illegal dog traffickers and support local dog shelters such as Quang Binh, shown here in the pictures. ⁠

We've worked in Vietnam since 1999, and have an excellent working relationship with the government to whom we will deliver the petition in person in November 2023. ⁠

This is when the trade in dogs increases, ahead of Lunar New Year in February where dog meat is traditionally consumed. ⁠

Handing in a petition with tens of thousands of signatures will show the Vietnamese government that the world wants them to ban the trade.⁠
