It started with an E-Bay find, a 1956 Pontiac Chieftain Station wagon similar to one the Nevada Northern Railway bought as a Fairmont Hy-Rail vehicle that could run on the rails as well as the highways of northeastern Nevada. The finished rebuild is just one of the time machines you will encounter at this fabulous museum railroad in Ely, Nevada. Watch as the Hy-Rail Pontiac engages the tracks, runs along the main line, sounding its horn at grade crossings, and returns to the highway at the end of its jaunt in October 2021.
