On Transfiguration Sunday, Rev. Frances Metcalf reflects on the glory revealed on the mountaintop as Jesus is transfigured before Peter, James, and John. In this powerful sermon, we are invited to stand “between heaven and earth,” to behold Christ in His radiance, and to prepare our hearts for the journey toward Lent.
As Moses and Elijah appear and the Father’s voice declares, “This is my beloved Son,” we are reminded that Jesus is not only Messiah, but God Himself. This moment of divine glory prepares the disciples—and us—for the coming road of sacrifice, repentance, and transformation.
As we approach Ash Wednesday, may we prepare our hearts not only with words, but with prayer, humility, and surrender.
