The most important news concerns age limits: The SRRV is finally available again for applicants aged 40 and older. While the required security deposit (Visa Deposit) for the 40–49 age group is $50,000, we demonstrate ways to utilize this capital effectively. For the main target group—retirees aged 50 and over—the adjustments are much more moderate. Here, the barrier to entry remains low: If you can prove a pension (min. $800/month for singles), you only need to deposit $15,000; without a pension, it is $30,000. The one-time processing fee has also been slightly adjusted to $1,500, while the annual fee remains stable.

A central focus of this video is the investment option. Many people are hesitant to have their money locked up in a bank account. Sir Romeo explains how you can convert the security deposit into the purchase of a condominium (condo) or—what is particularly attractive—into a long-term lease for a house and lot. The brilliant part is that this lease agreement can even be made with private individuals, such as your Filipina girlfriend's family, as long as there is a "Clean Title" for the property. This way, your visa deposit directly secures your housing in the Philippines.

We also discuss other benefits of the visa, such as the ability to legally work or run a business in the Philippines , as well as including spouses and children in the application. We also cover processing times: while it is often completed within one month in Manila, it can take up to two months in Cebu.
