Описание: Born today in 1955 in Kent, England, Nicholas “Topper” Headon wasn’t just The Clash’s drummer—he was the musical powerhouse behind some of their biggest hits. A gifted multi-instrumentalist, Topper joined the band in 1977 and brought next-level talent to their punk revolution. By 1979, he was behind the kit for London Calling, and in 1982, he not only played drums on Combat Rock, but also wrote the music for “Rock the Casbah”—a global anthem.

What you might not know? Topper also played bass, piano, and more on that track. His versatility helped define the Clash’s sound just as much as their punk attitude did.

Despite a painful departure in 1982 due to drug issues, Topper eventually reconnected with his bandmates and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with The Clash. Today, we celebrate the man behind the beat—Happy Birthday, Topper Headon!
