APIOps: What it is and why your APIs need it

Daniel Kocot of Codecentric explains what APIOps is and why you need it. In the end, it's all about iteration, automation, and scale: You want to have machinery in place that allows you to focus on creating and improving great API products. That machinery should automate what can be automated and thus should take some load off the more manual tasks in your API development and governance processes.

What kind of tools you throw into your APIOps pipeline, for example API linting with tools such as Spectral or Vacuum, is entirely up to you and to the teams that are using your APIOps tooling. But having a framework in place that allows teams to easily pick and use tools, that's the part where it can make a big difference to make this part of your API strategy, your API program, and your API platform. That way, you'll end up with an API landscape where teams get great support for creating good APIs and they also can evolve them easily.
