Get Upside Down!
You all know how I dislike trying to go around poses as opposed to through them. Shortcuts generally mean you have to go back and retrace your steps. But- if you are going to do one exercise that helps you feel how to get your hips over your shoulders in handstand- it's the puppy press. 🐶
You are not kicking. You are not cartwheeling. You are not flailing. You are learning where the hips go when you work up into a handstand. And, using the strength of your body to press yourself the rest of the way up into a handstand!
Be sure to plant your palms first, wrap your ribs in second then take the knee out to the side to help lift the hips up and over the shoulders. You will push your head into the wall. The head is the only item that should hit the wall.
