'We need justice': Family of teen killed in shooting faces alleged killer

A Gaston County teen charged with murder in the shooting death of a 16-year-old in late January appeared in court on Monday.
Sean James Curtis Simpson, 16, is charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in connection with the death of Zaquavious "Tank" Dawkins. Dawkins was found shot behind the Los Arcos restaurant on North Chester Street on Jan. 25. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.
Dawkins' family was in the courtroom for the proceedings.
"We gotta get justice through the court," Evelena Dawkins, the grandmother of the victim, said, while fighting back tears. "It just takes a lot out of us." #Crime #News #Homicide
