Formal bail hearing for rape accused in Frankfort case

The case against a 40-year-old man alleged to have raped a 16-year-old boy on New Year's Day will sit for a formal bail hearing in the Frankfort Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
Previously the prosecution indicated that it might be adding more charges against him.
The suspect was arrested on the 7th January 2025.
The matter comes to court a day before the first GNU government State-of-the-Nation Address.
With GBV declared South Africa's second pandemic, we use this matter as a case study which also casts the light on the abuse of the boy child which often goes unreported.
