Materials:
3" x 3" reclaimed posts cut down to 34 1/2"
1 1/2" x 6" reclaimed pine boards for the split rails
1/12" x 1" reclaimed pine for mounting the split rails
1 1/2" x 3" pine board for the top rail

The split rails are mounted 4" apart and mounted 4" above the loft flooring per NC building code. The newel posts are 34 1/2" with the 1 1/2" top board making the rails 36" per NC building code.
