Another incident of racial abuse against people from India’s Northeast. The location has changed, the victims have changed, but the pattern has not.
Weeks after EastMojo Editor-in-Chief Karma Paljor called out Temjen Imna Along for stating that Northeasterners face “discrimination” and not “racism,” a resident of Tripura, Anjel Chakma, was killed. Now, three women from Arunachal Pradesh have reported racial abuse, once again raising concerns about safety and accountability.
In this video, Paljor looks at whether these are isolated incidents or part of a deeper structural problem. He also addresses how mainstream representation often reduces Northeastern identities to stereotypes while ground realities remain unchanged.
