Second Chance is a non-profit organization that focuses on providing support and services to individuals who are facing significant barriers to employment and a stable life.

Mission: To disrupt the cycle of incarceration by helping at-risk youth and justice-involved people towards empowered self-sufficiency. Their programs and services are designed to help people overcome challenges such as homelessness, criminal backgrounds, addiction issues, and limited job skills.

Second Chance offers a range of services to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and become self-sufficient members of the community. These services include: job training, job placement, education, case management, housing/sober living

Their goal is to offer a second chance to those who have faced adversity, helping them reintegrate into society and achieve long-term success.

When you donate to Second Chance, you are helping provide an often-forgotten population with the assistance needed to change the trajectory of their lives. Second Chance provides options to donate to specific programs including:

Unrestricted - to support all of our programs and operations

Job Readiness Training - to deliver training in professional skills, employment preparation, job placement assistance and lifelong access to services

Sober Living Housing - to give justice-involved people a safe and stable place to live while receiving wrap around services to help them reach their goals.

Youth Garden - to provide a learning opportunity to at-risk youth that includes health and nutrition education and job skills such as customer service and leadership

Upcoming Events: Community Day – December 2nd opportunity for individuals, families, and friends to come together and learn about the products and resources offered by local businesses and organizations, including information and access to health and wellness resources.

In December, Community Day will be celebrating the holidays! The event will feature live music from DJ Noel, fresh produce for purchase, exceptional local vendors from Southeastern San Diego, exciting crafts, and holiday shopping. Guests will enjoy complimentary nachos, cotton candy, and hot chocolate

Youth Garden Fence Project: Second Chance Youth Garden program participants and ARTS (A Reason To Survive) are collaborating to design and build a new fence that will be going around our garden. Features art designed by youth garden participants that pays homage to the cultural history of Southeastern San Diego as well as a produce stand where they can sell the fruits of their labor.
