Ancient Art: Features Greek and Roman objects and artifacts, as well as ancient American, African, and South Asian art.
European & American Art: Includes works by masters such as Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Edward Hopper, and Georgia O'Keeffe. A major highlight is Frederic Edwin Church's masterpiece, The Icebergs (1861).
Modern & Contemporary Art: One of the most important holdings in the U.S., featuring artists like Jackson Pollock and Piet Mondrian.
Special Collections: The Keir Collection of Islamic Art is on a long-term loan. The museum also hosts popular temporary installations, such as Yayoi Kusama's All the Eternal Love I Have for the Pumpkins (2016) and International Surrealism. 

Constellations: Contemporary Jewelry exhibition at the DMA is featured in Forbes. This exhibition highlights over 350 pieces from the DMA’s contemporary jewelry collection, with many on display for the first time. You will see works made from a wide variety of materials, including steel, glass, brass, plastic, gold, silver, gemstones, and even organic or recycled items. Each piece reflects the creativity of artists from around the world. This major exhibition is on view through May 3, 2026.
