আখ কিংবা খেজুর রসের নামগন্ধই নেই। অথচ দিব্যি প্রস্তুত হয় গুড়। তাও আবার অনলাইনে চটকদার বিজ্ঞাপনে দাবি করা হয় এসব গুড়ই নাকি শতভাগ খাঁটি। এসব গুড় তৈরির উপকরণের নাম শুনলে ভিড়মি খেতে হয়। অপরিশোধিত ভারতীয় চিনি-গুড়, কাপড়ের ব্যবহৃত রঙ, ক্ষতিকর রাসায়নিক, চুন, ময়দা রয়েছে সেই তালিকায়। রাজশাহীতে আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীর অভিযানে উঠে এসেছে ভেজাল গুড়ের এই রমরমা কারবারের চিত্র।

Sugarcane or palm juice has no smell. Yet jaggery is prepared naturally. Yet, flashy advertisements online claim that these jaggery are 100% pure. Hearing the names of the ingredients used to make these jaggery makes you shudder. The list includes unrefined Indian sugar-jaggery, dyes used in clothes, harmful chemicals, lime, and flour. The picture of this rampant business of adulterated jaggery has come to light in a raid by law enforcement agencies in Rajshahi.
