Capturing the most incredible Penguin behavior | Antarctica

Описание: Watch how I capture award-winning footage of the most incredible penguin behavior in the Antarctic landscape. Porpoising is a behavior where penguins launch themselves forward into the air at a fast speed. They mainly use this behavior to evade predators or when they need to travel somewhere fast. I had a very ambitious goal in mind - to capture this behavior at eye level with the penguins porpoising towards me, showing off the stunning landscape and their natural habitat. To attempt to achieve this, I went kayaking in the Antarctic Peninsula, the coldest water in the world, with my Canon R3 (Canon rf 100-500), Canon R6 Mark ii (Canon rf 24-70), and GoPro (for underwater photography in Antarctica). I also wanted to capture the highest quality audio of penguins, so I brought a high-fidelity shotgun mic along with a bunch of other bird photography gear.

In December of 2024, I went to remote Antarctica looking for rare birds and wildlife with bird photography gear and high-fidelity audio recording equipment. I encountered extreme weather, blizzards, and rough seas, but it was all worth it to capture some truly incredible wildlife moments and behavior.

This video is a snippet of my nat geo style documentary on the rare wildlife of Antarctica, including landscape photography of some of the most stunning and harshest habitats on earth. I am releasing a multi-part documentary series. telling the stories of the rare Antarctic wildlife and showing the adventure of filming them in their natural habitat.

I am a wildlife filmmaker and music producer, and my documentaries feature an original soundtrack that I make incorporating the sounds of wildlife that I record with high-fidelity audio recording equipment. This video includes calming music that I made with penguin sound effects and sounds from the penguin natural habitat to fully immerse you into the Antarctic landscapes and natural habitat of the wildlife.
