Описание: Circumcision was an EVERLASTING SIGN of the Covenant God established with Abraham in Gen 17. Whoever was the male seed of Abraham or if any male foreigner (Gentile) joined himself to the people of Israel, they were commanded to be circumcised. Circumcision was a sign "in thier flesh" that these were the people of God.

Seeing that it is an everlasting covenant, it is still in effect today but how this manifests is different. The circumcision that God requires today is the Circumcision of Christ, who through the cross, cut away (circumcised) our flesh (the old man) from us. Paul calls it the circumcision of Christ in Colossians 2:11.

Here is a question for us believers: Seeing that the sins of the body have been cut away, are we keeping the covenant of circumcision by remaining free from habitual sins or are we continuing in the sins of the body? If the latter is true, we are breaking the covenant of Christ and need to repent. Circumcision is THE sign to the world that you are His. Can those around you see that habitual sin is absent in your life? Listen to what God told Abraham concerning this covenant:

[Gen 17:10-14 KJV] 10 This [is] my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. 11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. 12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which [is] not of thy seed. 13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. 14 And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.
