Tribute to MORRICONE - Alto Sax - Free score

Описание: Ennio Morricone has been one of the most influential composers and musicians in our lifetime. With his elegant and lush melodies combined with a peculiar sense of music harmony, he was able to create masterpieces that enhanced greatly the atmosphere in the movies his music was used to.

There is more to Morricone though: compared to other soundtrack composers, whose pieces lose a great deal if played without the visual part, his compositions stand firmly on their own, and for this reason, thousands of musicians play them in any kind of instruments settings: classical, jazz, folk, rock, you name it.

With this arrangement and video, I wish to pay tribute to him and to his city, Rome, in which I am lucky to live. Making this movie I had the chance to rediscover places that, I admit, I gave for granted before the pandemic.
I am sure Morricone admired them too as he never thought about living in another city. In fact, he was offered a big mansion in Hollywood and he refused politely to live in the eternal city and spend the rest of his life in the hills not far from where he was born, the neighbor of Trastevere (meaning "crossing Tevere", the city river).

I chose 4 unforgettable melodies from his repertoire: Love Theme (from "Cinema Paradiso"), Once upon a time in the west (from the homonymous movie), Gabriel's Oboe (from "The Mission"), and Playing love (from "The legend of 1900").

Splendid monuments in the video include the Pantheon, Trevi's Fountain, the Colosseum, the Fountain of water Paola, the ancient Claudio aqueduct, Circo Massimo, Castel Sant'Angelo, and a stunning view of the city during sunset in Pincio.
