STORYLINE:
Twin bomb blasts in the city of New Baghlan in Afghanistan wounded 23 people, including eight police officers, on Monday.
Abdul Azim, a medical worker treating several of the victims, reported what eye witnesses saw in the Sher Market in the northern Afghan province.
"This morning around 0730 am (0230 GMT), there were blasts in the Sher Market. According to eye witnesses, there was a planted bomb - 23 people were wounded which included children, students and policemen," said Azim.
"Fortunately no one died," he added.
Signs of the attack were still fresh on Monday: metal shop doors were crumpled from the blast and victims' blood was still on the floor, left from their evacuation to Baghlan hospital.
Investigation teams and police were working at the site on Monday afternoon.
Eight Afghan National Police officers were among the wounded.
Baghlan governor Abdul Majid said the twin bombs exploded near shops selling computer equipment.
Many of the wounded were still being treated in Baghlan hospital on Monday following the attack.
