Relief workers returning from North Korea say the critical food shortage in the isolated nation has eased, but the crisis is far from over and could become worse with the approach of winter.
Kathy Zellwegar, Hong Kong director of international cooperation for the Catholic relief agency Caritas told reporters in Beijing Tuesday (21/10) that international food supplies are reaching the hungry in North Korea, but the assistance falls short of the country's needs.
Zellwegar said children appeared frail and many were coughing, a sign they would be susceptible to a flu epidemic.
