Blind rivets, also called pop rivets, are used to fasten items together when access to the rear side of the joint is unavailable. They’re available in a variety of sizes and types, including standard, multi-grip, interlock, closed end, and painted varieties. Blind rivets are non-removable.

To use Bolt Depot blind rivets, you’ll need a drill, the correct size drill bit, and a blind rivet installation tool. Battery, pneumatic, or hand-operated tools will do the job, and you can find the correct drill bit size and other useful information in the product details included with your order. Drill a hole, clear any debris away from the opening, and insert the blind rivet. Next, slide the rivet installation tool over the mandrel of the rivet (that’s the metal spike sticking out of the front of the rivet) and compress the rivet until the mandrel breaks off, which means the rear section of the rivet has expanded to hold it in place, completing the installation. Repeat as many times as needed until all rivets have been secured.
