The Messthetics is a band made up of musicians that have proven themselves as legends time and time again, while James Brandon Lewis is an extremely talented experimentalist within the modern American jazz scene. The two coming together was promising from the start, but the pure excellency brought to the table by this collaboration is unprecedented all the same. This is every musician involved at their most disciplined, yet their most relentless. The album presented to the listener is one that is meant to highlight the raw chemistry of four extraordinarily talented individuals when they are placed in a creative environment where they have no limitations beyond those placed upon them by their own creative abilities. It just so happens that those performers in question are able to execute their vision in a manner that could only really be described as stunning.
