Cold showery day in Mullaghmore but inside this beautiful old home the open turf fire was warm and opened armed welcome for everyone that came.

Family reunion in Memory of Winnie Kelly who was married 100 years ago today. Winnie grew up in this beautiful home and also remember Margaret Niland who tragically passed at a young age and would have been 70yrs old yesterday.

Many members of Kelly family came from here and abroad. There was plenty to eat and drink including a big pot of potatoes cooked on the open turf fire. Which were later devoured with some salt and butter. Bucket loads of tea and even a drop of poitín was found. The stations were had and everyone was thought of in the prayers by Fr. Seán Neylon including Eoin a young family member who was heading off to Ohio for work experience and the people in Gaza.

Jimmy Laffey gave a great talk on the history of the house, townlands of the area and it was recorded to send over to family members in USA.

Singing and music started although I left early evening the shenanigans went on until the small hours of the morning.

There is something magical about these beautiful homes although no one lives there now this home felt as though we all belonged there.
