In the dim and distant past, most children saw themselves as doctors and teachers in their future career. Teachers are venerated as gurus in some Asian countries. Teenagers put reality show participants and media influencers on A pedestal by virtue of the fact that they have A lavish life style. This propensity can have an inimical impact on children because they try to emulate them, including their negative behaviour patterns. Chiara Ferragni is an erstwhile law student, she was dropped out of University in order to spend more time blogging. Now she is a happy millionaire. She has just achieved her aims solely by publishing photographs of herself wearing A certain variety of extravagant dresses ensembled in a range of glamorous locations. She is a role model to a generation of digital natives. Elder generationS cannot stomach this SEEMINGLY effortless job anD cast aspersion on celebrities. While I was going home one day, I was eavesdropping on a group of children adjacent to a school. They were talking about the jobs they want to do when they grow up. Among them there were potential celebrities, models, YouTube and Instagram influencers, AND footballers. THEIR adolescent dreams were greeted with utmost interest BY THEIR PEERS. One statement provoked howls of derision; a boy said that he had the desire to become a teacher.
On the other hand, we should size up all of the possible advantages of the cyber world before make assumptions about every blogger and influencer. Finland’s government has enlisted influencers recently in the battle against the corona-virus, they help them reach A wider AUDIENCE OF citizens during the global crisis.
Socially disadvantaged children lack the wherewithal to enrol in a proper University and end up in a dream job. Taking part in a reality show can be a great alternative for them. They can be in the spotlight for a while, even if it might be a fifteen minutes fame. Internet access is the common denominator. A person who was born as a peasant in the murky medieval times was not able to break through the societal constraints, ipso facto, he or she died AT the same SOCIAL level as THE ONE THEY WERE BORN INTO.
In conclusion, I am inclined to believe that teenagers should pick role models FROM among people who serve the community, like teachers. However we ought not to overlook the beneficial side of the Internet and the good intentionS behind the technology.
