This is the touching story of Hazrat Hassan (R.A.) and Hazrat Hussain (R.A.), the beloved grandsons of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. When they fell ill, Hazrat Ali (R.A.), Hazrat Fatima (R.A.), and the family made a vow (mannat) to fast for three days if Allah granted them health. Allah accepted their prayer, and they fulfilled their promise by fasting for three days.
During those days, whenever they prepared food for iftar, needy people came to their door, and they selflessly gave away their food to the poor, breaking their fast with only water. This great sacrifice and act of generosity was loved by Allah, and Surah Al-Insan was revealed in their honor, highlighting their patience, sacrifice, and devotion.
This beautiful incident reminds us of the importance of keeping promises to Allah, helping the poor, and showing gratitude for His blessings.
