The Simpsons Ride is a motion simulator attraction located in the Springfield areas of Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood. Inspired by the animated television series *The Simpsons*, it was announced in 2007 as a replacement for "Back to the Future: The Ride" at both parks. The ride opened at Universal Studios Florida on May 15, 2008, and its debut at Universal Studios Hollywood on May 19, 2008. The creators of "The Simpsons" contributed to the design and 2D animation of the ride, which incorporates CGI animation. At its opening, the ride featured cutting-edge projection and hydraulic technology.

In 2013, the attraction became the focal point of a themed Simpsons area at both parks, designed to resemble the fictional town of Springfield from the show. The experience lasts over four minutes and includes two pre-show queues guests encounter before boarding the ride. The theme revolves around Krustyland, a theme park created by Krusty the Clown, where his former sidekick, the evil genius Sideshow Bob, plots his revenge against Krusty and the Simpson family. Many characters from the show make appearances, with all voices provided by the original actors. While geared toward families, The Simpsons Ride is notable for being one of the first major theme park attractions based on an adult animated series.

In October 2007, Kwik-E-Mart-themed gift shops were introduced at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood, replacing the Back to the Future: The Store at Florida and the Time Travelers Depot at Hollywood. These stores offer a variety of Simpsons-themed merchandise. Additionally, carts selling Squishees, a parody of 7-Eleven's Slurpees from The Simpsons, were placed near the stores.

A significant portion of the World Expo area at Universal Studios Florida and part of the Upper Lot at Universal Studios Hollywood was transformed into a new themed section called Springfield (though Florida's version would remain a part of World Expo until 2016). This area features iconic locations from *The Simpsons*, such as Krusty Burger, Frying Dutchman, Lard Lad Donuts, Moe's Tavern, and Duff Brewery. The park also introduced a new ride called *Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl*, a spinning attraction similar to Dumbo, where guests control flying saucers around Kodos' head and "attack" Springfield residents.
