Proactive Roads Policing pursuit in Southampton

A drug driving tradesman led police on a 60mph chase through Southampton before smashing into an unmarked car and trying to flee the scene.
While on patrol on February 12, this year, officers from our proactive roads policing team attempted to stop a white Transit van.
Driver Jordan Carson initially pulled up on Upper Deacon Road, but quickly changed his mind - leading a chase through residential streets in Sholing and Bitterne.
One of our team pursued the van, while also calmly directing other units into position ready for Carson's inevitable attempts to run from the vehicle and avoid arrest.
Stopping in Merryoak Green, the 25-year-old initially attempted to reverse ram a police car, before fleeing the driver's seat straight into the path of an officer on foot.
