Party leadership (post)

There has been a tug‑of‑war between Dr. S. Ramadoss (founder) and Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss (his son) over who is officially party president.

Courts and Election Commission orders have, in effect, kept Anbumani recognised as president till his current term ends (2026), while Ramadoss senior and his faction are politically projecting him as “PMK thalaivar” again.

Mango symbol (“மாம்பழ சின்னம்”)

The mango symbol is legally tied to the recognised party organisation, not to one person’s name.

As of now, in the legal/EC sense, the symbol goes with the faction that is officially recognised as PMK – which is the side led by Anbumani Ramadoss under the current term.

Ramadoss senior’s camp is fighting to change that in court; if they win in future, control of the symbol could shift.

So, politically people may say “PMK is for Ramadoss appa” or “PMK is for Anbumani,” but formally the president post and mango symbol are with Anbumani’s side until the term/any new order changes it.
