Man Killed During Alleged Shootout With Police in Spanish Town
A man known as “Pussman” was reportedly killed during a confrontation with police in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, over the weekend.
Reports are that during an early-morning operation on Featherbed Lane on Saturday, officers were executing a search warrant when they were allegedly met with gunfire. The police returned fire, and Pussman was later found suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police reports also indicate that a firearm was recovered at the scene.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has launched a probe into the fatal encounter.
Woman Dead, Daughter and Grandchildren Injured in Manchester Crash
A 57-year-old woman has died following a motor vehicle collision in Manchester on Sunday morning.
Three other members of her family—her daughter and two grandchildren—were hospitalised.
Police reports indicate that the Nissan AD Wagon in which the family was travelling veered off New Green Road, near the Martin’s Hill dump, plunging approximately 100 feet off the roadway.
Firefighters, police officers, and members of the public assisted in removing the occupants from the mangled vehicle before they were taken to hospital.
