According to the documents we have, including the certificate of occupancy, the museum in Edo is officially designated as the Edo Museum of West African Art. It was only renamed to MOWA at the twilight of the Obaseki administration. This revelation has raised our suspicions. The museum has been a state government project from its inception. Out of the N4.1 billion quoted for the completion of the pavilion, N3.8 billion was spent by Edo State.
