Folding Driveway Gate - First Electric Operation

Описание: This is one full scene that will be included in the full completed edition of my bifold driveway gate project. This is a video of the first electrical actuation of the Bi-folding driveway gate. This gate design is very unique as it does not use a track on the ground. This footage was filmed in one afternoon and edited using Adobe Premiere Pro. Included are aerial UAV drone scenes of nature and of the project taken using a DJI Mavic Mini 2. The brick columns I built in 2017 and 2018 are 8' tall structural steel rebar reinforced masonry sitting on reinforced concrete footings 3' X 5' buried 2 feet deep. The fence I built in 2016 is 7' tall and is 8" thick using T-111 siding panels on both sides; the fence is capped with custom bent sheet metal similar to a parapet coping. The lamps at the top of the brick columns are solar LED powered.

**Interesting Facts**
The overall gate is 20' wide X 7' tall. It is broken into four sections that are each roughly 5' wide.

Open and closing time are each ~20.4 seconds.

Gate frame is 1-1/2" Steel Tube (.0625" and .125" wall thickness).

The upper hinge is a heim joint pinned into a custom clevis made from the long lower control arm of a 1969 Chevy C-10 Truck.

The lower hinge is essentially an generic 7" barrel hinge which utilizes one ball bearing and in this design carries the vertical load of the gate due to weight and environment.

The gate actuators are Mistral Genius 424 LS (Made in Italy).

Gate controls are home-built DIY (video to come). Gate controls shown in video are only a rudimentary temporary wire bundle utilizing a 3 way switch and 2 relays and powered by two 12V AGM batteries wired in series.

The lower hinge plate and the gate actuator support beam will receive a hot dip galvanized finish while the gate frame itself will be black powder-coated. The gate panels will be filled with basic cedar fence boards treated with a dark stain.
