Today I am going to show you the device that especially now, in the summer, is my favorite home smart gadget – and is used for remote control of the temperature of an airconditioner. It’s the AI powered Ambi Climate!


The only requirements that it has: home Wi-Fi with internet connection, and direct visibility to the Air conditioner. And you can use it from multiple smartphones – apparently it is possible to have the app installed on each member of the family.
I liked a lot what Ambi Climate have done with the packaging – it looks so stylish, and at the same time – environment friendly. Elegant shape, and having both white and black, combined with the wooden basis makes it a good addition to most furniture styles. It takes small amount of space, and can be moved – as long as you can connect a charging cable.
You can’t go wrong with the setup – it is so intuitive that adding your AC is very simple – pick the model from the list and you are all set. You can search by AC model, or remote control model – so the chances of picking the right one are quite big. Ambi Climate 2 can also teach your AC on the needed commands and your air conditioner can become as well controlled as it is from the original remote if not listed.
The smartphone app is very powerful.
You’ve got analytics page – with amazingly detailed information and because we talk about AI-powered device – the more you use it, the more accurate it will become.
There's a device settings page where you can pair and fine-tune the parameters. Should you change your home network SSID – that’s the place to adjust it to the new one. And – of course, timers.
I believe the last menu is really important, having a few different kinds of operation. The comfort mode is all about AI – and you don’t have to care or remember temperature levels.
There also is “away mode” and we finish with the manual mode – where it does feel as if you use the physical remote control.
Depending on the status – you will notice that every configuration change will be accompanied by a beep and LED flash – and as long as it is mostly green, everything is fine.
Note that in order Ambi Climate 2 to work, you need your AC remote to be with a display.
Oh, and it supports Siri, Alexa and Google Home!
At the end – I can mostly say superlatives for this small and cute device. Great to see such a good leap forward from the first generation, and having a revamped and functional app is of great help – and this is one of the good smart-home additions to my collection in 2019.
