If you want to learn how to sew on a facing the proper way, I show you a technique called understitching in the video. This helps your facing lay flat and avoid rolling out.
This video also shows you how to match a repeat fabric pattern when cutting your caftan out. I designed a special pattern for my caftan and it is printed on organic cotton double gauze from Little Cocalico Fabric Printing (a small local business I love). In the end, you may have a bit of fabric scrap left over. So, the best thing to do is make a matching head scarf! Stay tuned until the end where I show you how to make one for yourself. :)
