Good day dear Scene Walker
In today's video, we visit one of Finland's oldest villages, tucked away just off the country's busiest highways.
The Helsinki Parish Village in Vantaa is one of Finland’s oldest continuously inhabited areas. Dating back to the Middle Ages, it developed around the Church of St. Lawrence, a 15th-century stone church.
The idyllic village has a small population of just 139 residents.
Recognized as a Finnish cultural heritage site, the village preserves a rare glimpse of pre-industrial life through its historic buildings, open fields, and riverside paths.
Reflecting the area’s strong Swedish-speaking heritage, all schools in the surrounding area teach exclusively in Swedish.
I've been waiting a long time for the perfect moment to film here, and i think that moment has finally arrived.
Covered with beautiful snow, a place where time seems to stand still, a calm, almost timeless atmosphere.
