The Leclerc is France's main battle tank and is named after a French general from WW Two. The Leclerc is an able tank and has been in service since 1992. In the West, the other main battle tanks are the M1 Abrams, the German Leopard II, the British Challenger II, the Italian Ariete C1, and the Polish P91.
The Leclerc only requires a crew of three. It has a gunner, a commander, and a driver. Most tanks have a fourth crew member — a loader. However, in the Leclerc tank, this is automated, eliminating the need for the fourth person.
