Canary is one of the first projects to be completed at Rodeo FX Animation — the new animation division of the award-winning VFX company.
Directed by Pierre-Hugues “PH” Dallaire and Benoit “Ben” Therriault, Canary tells a cautionary tale set in a coal mine in 1922, where a young boy called Sonny looks after the canary tasked with detecting lethal methane gas. Forming a unique bond with the bird, Sonny starts playing pranks on the miners. But little does he know that his trickery will have tragic consequences.
