With millions of young people engaged in delivery, ride-hailing, and platform-based jobs, gig work has emerged as a major source of employment. However, alongside flexibility and daily income, serious concerns have also emerged regarding low and unstable earnings, road safety risks, lack of social security, and absence of long-term job protection.
In this video, the discussion covers key issues such as daily earnings of gig workers, the controversy around 10-minute delivery promises, safety risks faced by delivery partners, and the arguments put forward by platform companies regarding profitability and competition. It also examines criticisms related to worker exploitation, pressure from time-based targets, and inadequate insurance and welfare coverage.
At the same time, the video highlights the positive aspects of gig work, including flexible working hours, multiple income opportunities, dignity of labour, and greater autonomy compared to traditional informal employment.
