Triók (Trios) for Three Violins is an arrangement of Bartók's choral works by Endre Szervánszky. It is comprised of 11 movements, each corresponding to a Hungarian folksong.
The CObek trio is a self-instructed trio, who took on the challenge of learning this little-known piece without any recordings to reference. After opportunities such as a masterclass with the Argus Quartet and performing at the Colorado Symphony Gala, the trio decided to record this piece in its entirety, whether it is for reference of another trio or just to share the singing melodies (and the occasional intriguing dissonance) with anyone who would like to listen. We hope you enjoy!
