While on the hunt for a carnivorous river dweller that is to blame for the death of a local, Jeremy Wade finds himself with a freshwater stingray on the end of his line. Though the ray is not the predator he is after, it is nonetheless one of the most feared river creatures in South America due to the painful wound caused by its stinger barb.
