Coonoor Railway Station is one of the many stations on the Niligiris Mountain Railway. It is also the biggest on this route. It is very ancient but well maintained. All who travel to Ooty should hop on to this train. One train leaves from Coonoor at 07.30 in the morning and the other at 10.45. The second train come from Mettupalayam while the first starts from Coonoor. The capacity on this trains is limited hence you need to be lucky to board the same.
Coonoor station is a place you could spend relaxing sitting on the many seats there.provided you have that luxury of cooling your heals. But you are sure to enjoy just sitting and watching the railway workers going about their chores.
