At the Yemen Border Exploring a Wadi Alone – Saudi Arabia

Описание: In my quest for finding good wildlife spots to photograph southern Saudi animals, I found myself within 500m from the Yemen border. Fortunately for me, during this trip, in Jan 2025, the geo-political situation between Saudi and Yemen was calmer than usual; thus, unlike my 2022 March trip, I did not hear gun shots or bomb blasts, nor did I face many intense security checks.

With that said, I did find carrying my large 400m prime lens, with digi-camouflage, was not the best of ideas… I looked like I was “Carrying” and it made me quite alarmed, to be fair.

Now, being 500m from the Yemen border did, also, make me feel the itch… the itch to cross over and explore Yemen! But, alas, I stayed put and then headed to Jizan before heading North all the way to Haql at the Jordan border.
