Belle/The Great Prince ~ To Be Human

STORY:
~The Great Prince of the forest is on his lonely patrol, when he hears distant cries. A young woman flees a pack of wolves, and though he knows not why, he impulsively goes to help her. The Great Prince saves the human woman, but not without suffering his own injuries. He lies down, and the woman, knowing he could die if the wounds turned infected stays with him and helps to heal him. She introduces herself as Belle. The Great Prince is touched by her kindness.
~With the Great Prince healed, he attempts to show his gratitude to Belle for helping to tend him in his weakened state. Though at first he is awkward and at a loss for what to do, Belle's kind and easy nature allows his guard to fall and the pair quickly strike up a friendship. Even to the point where Belle's simple touch has the Great Prince pausing in wonder.
~Winter melts into spring, and the bond between beauty and animal has only grown. The pair meet in the forest frequently to talk, laugh, and play together. In Belle's presence, the Great Prince has recovered not only his youth, but the loneliness that had plagued his existence has now been banished. He very quickly realises he has fallen in love.
~Having heard whispers of the maiden that visited the forest, the Old Owl visits the Great Prince, and reminds him rather harshly that humans do not belong in the forest, for they are the enemy of all animals. When it doesn't sway the Prince, the Owl tells him that the love between the pair must remain unrequited. Belle is a mortal woman who is as alone in this world as the Prince once was, and in order for her to be happy in the long-run, she will need a human husband who could give her stability and children. The Great Prince sees the error of his ways, and realises that Belle could never have a life with him.
~With a heavy heart, the Great Prince tells Belle that she must return to her human village, and never return to him or the forest. Belle, heartbroken, has no choice but to turn around and leave. The Great Prince watches her go until she is no longer in sight, and turns away.
~The heartache haunts the Great Prince in the weeks that follow, all the while he cannot shake from his mind the memory of the time he spent with the human woman. The loneliness settles around him once more.
~In her provincial little town, Belle overhears the village hunter, Gaston, proclaim that he would be venturing on a grand hunt to catch the mighty stag that eludes and foils all the hunters. Belle, knowing he means the Great Prince, tries to stop him, but is unsuccessful, so instead, though she is forbidden, rides into the forest to warn the Great Prince.
~From afar, he hears her cries, and runs to her. The pair meet atop a cliff, and for a single moment, are happily reunited.
~Yet it is then that Gaston finds them. Though the Great Prince attempts to flee, he is shot down. Gaston however, doesn't survive long enough to celebrate his victory, as he plummets down to the bottom of the cliff.
~Belle realises that the wound the Great Prince has suffered is deadly. She weeps, and tries to comfort him in his final moments. But the Prince, who's love is so great, begins to transform right before her very eyes. Belle watches, amazed, as the stag is turned into a handsome man! Yet one look in his eyes, and she knows without a doubt that it is him. She remembers their love, and the two share a kiss, unknowing but trusting in the future that awaits them together.
