This shorter Photo Video takes mainly along the A9 south of Aviemore and stopping at A9 layby 114 to see surrounding area along with the Ancient Ruthven Barracks Build early 1700's by George 1st government.

Also I found near Carlisle the last 3 pictures off the beaten track off the M6 heading south.

Total journey was around 2250 miles from south west Hampshire and a total of 23 days, with 2 stops at Winchcombe campsite near Cheltenham Gloucestershire, and up, and return stopover at Blackpool South campsite.

Things I have learnt, to keep fuel topped up on NC500 as filling stations can be a bit sparse in places. A good camera, for memorable pictures as well as video. Also, if possible to travel with company if one can to enjoy the scenery and get extra pictures whilst on the move.

Be confident in your vehicle and driving it. There are a fair few hire vehicles on hire, which are a lot larger and different to drive than a smaller family car.

Book up campsites before one sets off, and try to restrict most journeys to around 50 to 80 miles a day. I was lucky to be able to get in sites on turn up for the journey, hence a rush to find a next site in one or 2 places, but I copped in the end, with electric hookup on all sites in the end.

If travelling from say southern England, plan stopovers for the journey to and from Scotland, rather than just driving say 400 plus miles in a single hit.

The motorhome I travelled in, is my own purchased in October 2024, and I had plenty of experience in the way the vehicle handled before I set off, and the total weight of the vehicle fully laden of 3160kgs, including full fuel and full water tank. I was able to get it weighed on a weighbridge close to the filling station when I set off. Just remember, a lot of motorhomes are restricted to just 3500kg max. including everything, drivers and passengers.
