A Peacock Spider Story Episode I - The great escape artist

Описание: If you're arachnophobic then this series I created may just change that for you. Who knows, you might even fall in love with one of the most gorgeous jumping spiders that is out there!

I had been waiting to capture images of this amazingly colourful and tiny species since October last year when I first encountered one. Finally about two weeks ago I stumbled upon one again & I was over the moon.
I spotted it on a small plant but I couldn't take pictures of it there and when I held my hand out it jumped straight onto it and was exploring it for a few minutes then I decided to bring him home as it looked very chilled, walking around on my hand & fingers nonchalantly. I placed it into a small plastic container for a few minutes just to set my gear up as I really wanted to grab some decent close-ups and decided to take some footage as well. After a couple of hours I returned this little fella to where I had found him earlier.

This first episode is just a little introduction to this magnificent species and I can't wait to show you all the other episodes where I recorded this fascinating jumping spider in its natural environment, showing off its amazing leaping ability, hunting skills and last but not least its courtship dance manoeuvres!
