There are two themes that we see in this passage. THE LOVE OF GOD and HIS APPEARING. In the first, John reminds God’s people of the LAVISHNESS of God’s love and the GLORIFICATION of the believer during Christ’s appearing. These themes speak of our blessedness. It also speaks to us of the proper response we are to have in view of the coming of Jesus.
