Through the Innovation Grant Program, St. David’s has been able to provide learning opportunities in nutrition, cooking, and gardening for more than 25 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This grant has allowed St. David’s to partner with a registered dietician/master gardener and offer accessible gardening, culturally inclusive cooking experiences, and curriculum development that fosters healthy eating and community connection. The program has provided the participants with the opportunity to develop cooking and gardening skills, explore new foods, and share their own food traditions and experiences all while building meaningful relationships.
