Here is a selection of clips showing activity in and around Vasus de Sus depot in the north east of Romania. The depot services the needs of the Vasser Valley narrow gauge logging railway.
The diesel locomotives are class 89s and are powered by Maybach or Sulzer 450hp engines and have hydraulic boxes.
The first clip Shows class 870015 leaving the depot at 0700 with a workers train and empty log trollies.
The next clip shows a modified Class 87 with a Maybach engine shunting two of the resident Resita 0-8-0 steam locos.
Next we see this awesome railcar, I don't know what engine she is powered by but she sounds great. She is towing a flat bed with a lame horse. This horse will be led up into the mountains and shot before being carved up and left for the bears.
Next we see 87014 with a loaded log train. She is powered by a Sulzer engine. Note the brake man who is in communication with the driver by VHF.
Finally we see a ford transit converted for rail travel with a few workers heading up the valley....cool.
