3 Options for Private Pilot Ground School

Описание: 🚀In this video, I talk about the different options for ground school training for aspiring pilots. Whether you want an accelerated, all-in approach or you want a more relaxed training schedule that you can fit around the rest of your life, this video explains those options.

In order to get your Private Pilot's License you have to meet two main objectives; Pass your FAA Written Test and Pass your FAA Practical Checkride. In order to be able to take either of these exams you must have a signed endorsement in your logbook from a certified instructor. Receiving a written endorsement for the Written Test can be done in a few different ways. 3 to be exact. What is your cheapest option for ground school? Do you need a ground school? This video answers these questions.

The first way is to attend a formal, in-person Ground School at your chosen flight school, local community college, or elsewhere. You can find ground schools near you by following this link: https://www.aopa.org/learntofly/schoo... This option has the advantages of being able to ask questions in real-time to other students in the class and the instructor teaching the class. At the end of the course, if you show you are proficient in the material, the instructor will hand you your endorsement. The downside of this is that you have to drive once a week to a formal lesson and your pace of learning has to match that of the lessons. So if you are someone that has other responsibilities in life like a job or children then this could be difficult.

The second way allows for some flexibility. This is an online ground school. Online ground schools can be completed at your own pace. They have all videos and lessons online so that you can access them anywhere you have internet. Once you have shown you are proficient in the material via some kind of online test the online ground school will send you your Written test endorsement. It's that easy! Online ground training is also cheaper than in-person training because the school doesn't have to pay for an instructor. This allows for a cost savings of $200-$400. The downside of an Online ground school is that you do not have the one-on-one chances to ask questions to an instructor. However, several online schools allow you to be able to chat with an instructor OR you can join the Part Time Pilot Facebook group... this is a perfect place to ask questions related to the written test and get a good competent answer!

The third way allows for even more flexibility. This is called self-study. Self-study allows you to spend as little as possible by using great free content (like Part Time Pilot) or buy cheap/used study materials and practice tests off amazon. The problem with self-study is that you will still need an endorsement from a certified instructor. This means that you will have to know or find an instructor and convince them to give you an endorsement. Then, they will determine if you are ready for the written test.
